Since our founding, we have been hyper-focused on being a quality supplier of first-rate products. We pride ourselves on taking care of our customers ---- many of whom have been with us through second-generation small businesses, as well.
The company's founder, John F. White, passed away in 1983. But his great passion for and love of customer service was infused in his successors. His wife, Alice, immediately stepped in to take the company through its next generation of growth. And his son, Steve, was right beside her every step of the way, handling field operations and inventory management.
Alice White passed away in 2012 after running the business day-in-and-day-out for 29 years. Being behind the counter was a labor of love for her. She was expert in all facets of the business. In December of 2011, she was profiled in the trade publication Fuel Oil News for her leadership. The article, "Women in the Industry," noted her expertise and work ethic: "Alice could well retire, but due to her dedication to her customers, she can be found daily at the counter greeting and serving their needs."
Today, the company is run by Steve White who remains committed to excellence in customer service, industry knowledge and product quality. He has a long history in the oil heat service industry. He joined the business in 1980 and has been working alongside professionals in the trade as a member of the Oil Heat Institute of Rhode Island and the National Association of Oil and Energy Service Professionals where he served as president of the Rhode Island chapter. John F. White & Co., Inc. is a second-generation, family-owned business.
